About Me

I am a father of 3 children between the ages of 5 and 10. We live a few miles outside Portumna, in the South East of Galway - a great place for family life. Ensuring our kids have a safe environment growing up and the opportunity to thrive in Ireland are my priorities as a parent. Most of my adult life, I have worked in sales & marketing and I have held leadership positions in rapidly growing companies in Ireland and in Australia during a three-year stint in Melbourne. In 2005/06, I spent a year living and working in Spain and my work has taken me to the UK, Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden and Denmark. I have travelled extensively through parts of South-East Asia, Australia, New Zealand, South America and Central America.

My third level education includes a First Class Hons. Degree in Business (GMIT), a Masters in Journalism (University of Galway) and a Professional Diploma in Data Analytics (UCD). I believe my experience, education and capacity for problem-solving makes me a very strong candidate to represent the people of East Galway in Dáil Éireann.

I am also Treasurer of the Portumna Camogie Club.

Core values

These are the core values that drive how I operate:

  • Accountability – Everyone in positions of responsibility should be evaluated and answerable on their performance.
  • Authenticity – Being true to yourself regardless of external pressures.
  • Autonomy – The right and the capacity to make informed, uncoerced decisions.
  • Integrity – Being honest and showing strong moral principles and character.
  • Respect – Treating everybody equally regardless of their standing in society. Respect is a two-way street, anything else is reverence, which I don’t do.

If these values resonate with you, I hope that you will vote for me in the Galway East Constituency at the next election.
